Welcome

Welcome to WARP: A society built on developing a community for student gamers

We offer and are open to many forms of gaming: Miniatures, Role-playing, Computer games, Board games and Card games. We look forward to sharing the games we enjoy and to experience the games you enjoy.

We are entering our 3rd year of WARP. Our biggest successes are our weekly gatherings of Role-playing and General gaming.

The roleplaying is held on…… the most common of which is a “Dungeons and Dragons” campaign lead by…… Occasionally things are shaken up with other official or homebred systems. If you are interested in playing a character in unique and imaginative worlds, then please come along and join our destined adventurers.

General Gaming gatherings are the less structured evenings, every Thursday from 6 in Hell115. We meet up to play whatever we brought with us. A mix of War games, board games, and card games tend to be whats on the menu. Build an army of minitures to do battle and claim victory over opponents in “Warhammer”, “Warmachine”, “Heroclix”, “Urban War”, “Monsterpocalypse”. We have over 40 other card/board games to choose from, ranging from the command and conquering of “Risk” and “Settler of Catan” to the wacky madness of “Killer Bunnies” and “Fluxx” to the strategic puzzles in “Ingenious” and “Carcassonne”. General Gaming is a good entry point for anyone wanting check out the wide variety of available games out there. All are very welcome.

One of our aims this year is to develop a weekly computer gaming evening. Whether it be linking up some laptops together or playing on a console projected on the wall. Many of the gamers who come to WARP play computer games too, so to get a frequent weekly dose of that action would be great.

Hopefully after reading this you have at least a spark of intrigue, if you have any interest feel free to come to any of our gatherings for a taster or contact us with any questions you may have. The main point of communication for our society is on our website’s forum board (aru-warp.co.uk) check it out J
